Students must show the diary to their parents whenever notes
are given by teachers or the principal and obtain their parents’ signatures. Entries made by parents
or guardians should also be shown to the principal, homeroom educator, teacher, or coordinator.

in educational institutions.
Enforcement of Mobile Phone Ban
Sri Sakthi Matriculation Higher Secondary School
strictly enforces a ban on the possession, use, and misuse of mobile phones, SIM cards, and related
accessories by students. Violations of this policy, both by school and government regulations, will be
viewed seriously, and students involved may face expulsion with due communication to their parents.
1. Purpose and Handling
The progress report serves to inform
parents about their children's academic progress. Each time it is issued, parents should carefully
study it, sign it, and return it to the class teacher. Parents are not allowed to take the report
home; it will only be handed over at the end of the year. Permission from the Principal is required to
obtain a color photocopy, if needed. Any irregularities in this process will be taken very seriously.
2. Promotion Criteria
Promotion is based on the marks obtained in all tests
throughout the year. Students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 must achieve a minimum of 33% in all subjects,
while students in Grades 3 to 8 must achieve a minimum of 40% in all subjects. If a student is absent
for any test or examination, they will be marked absent and given zero. No re-tests will be conducted
under any circumstances. In case of emergencies, special permission must be obtained from the
Principal well in advance.
Silence
Strict silence must be observed in the library at all times
to maintain a conducive environment for reading and studying.
Reading Habit
Students are encouraged to develop the habit of
reading as it is essential for their educational development. Parents are requested to motivate their
children to cultivate this habit.
Book Issuance
Books will be issued to all students for their
academic and recreational reading.
Responsibility for Books
*Loss* Any lost book must be replaced or duly compensated for. A fine will be levied for the loss or damage of borrowed books.
*Damage* Students are responsible for returning books in the same condition as when borrowed. Fines will be imposed for any damage to borrowed books.
Borrowing Procedure
No book, magazine, or newspaper should be taken
out of the library without the permission of the librarian.
Offensive Literature
Students are strictly forbidden to bring any
offensive literature or materials to school.
Dangerous Items
Children are prohibited from bringing crackers,
explosives, or any other dangerous materials to school.
Electronic Gadgets
No student should bring any electronic gadgets
as they are not permitted on the school campus.
Copying and Malpractice during Assessments:
Any student found copying or engaging in any form of malpractice during tests or assessments will face consequences. This includes being barred from taking subsequent assessments until the Principal grants written permission. The student will receive a zero in the subject concerned along with a warning letter.
Meeting with Principal:
The student involved in malpractice must bring their parents to meet with the Principal. If such behavior is repeated, it may lead to dismissal or expulsion from the school.
Tampering with Documents:
Any student who tampers with marks, answer sheets, or school certificates will face suspension from the school.
Prohibited Items;
Students should not bring valuables or money to school. They are not allowed to bring magazines, mobile phones, video games, cameras, pictures, or books, CDs/thumb drives/cassettes other than those prescribed, except when specifically asked by a teacher.
Indecent Material;
Students found possessing, reading, or viewing any material of an indecent nature are liable to rustication without notice.
Responsibility for Belongings:
Every student should take care of his/her personal belongings. The school authorities do not take responsibility for the loss of such belongings.
Labeling Belongings:
The name of the student and grade should be clearly marked in bold letters on personal belongings to facilitate recovery if lost on the school premises.
Expensive Items:
Students are expected not to wear any expensive items such as jewellery or watches. The school will not be liable for the loss of any personal expensive items.
Uniform and Personal Grooming;
Students must come to school in neat and well-maintained school uniforms with their nails trimmed and hair properly cut. No hair coloring or styling is allowed.
Maintaining Cleanliness;
It is the duty of all students to keep their classrooms and other areas in and around the school clean and orderly. Garbage should be disposed of only in the dustbins provided.
Classroom Tidiness:
Before leaving the classroom, students should pick up waste paper and any unwanted material from the floor and place it in the dustbin. They should leave desks and chairs in proper order and switch off all lights, fans, and air conditioners.
Jewellery Restrictions:
No jewellery of any kind is allowed in school. Earrings, if worn, should be small and not made of gold.
